Hey, loves! With Spring and (hopefully) warmer weather approaching, it’s fair to say that most of us will be spending far more time outdoors than in. Which means more time spent in the sun, which means sunscreen and sunglasses should be your BFF’s (if they’re not already). Personally, I am never without either outdoors no matter the season. 🙂
Generally, I just grab a pair of whatever brand as long as they look cute and provide 100% UVA/UVB protection but finding a brand that gives back as well definitely hits my radar hard. I do love brands that give something back.
One of those brands is Warby Parker, who strives to provide higher quality, better-looking eyewear at a more affordable price. They believe that buying glasses should be easy and fun and not put a strain on your wallet. They also believe that everyone has a right to see.
According to their site, almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses, which means that about 15% of the world’s population can’t effectively learn or work. To help address this issue, they’ve partnered with non-profit organizations like Vision Spring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is given to someone in need. Read more about their “Buy a Pair, Give a pair” program here.
Now, back to sunglasses! 😉
In keeping with their give back philosophy, they’ve recently collaborated with singer Justin Timberlake to create three pairs of sunglasses in support of his upcoming album. Their inspiration was the album’s song “Wave” so each pair is designed in a wide fit with rose-colored lenses (in connection to the song’s lyrics) and along each pair’s left temple is a wave emblem to go with the theme. Each case contains a snippet of the song and the lens cloth features lyrics that were handwritten by JT himself.
In honor of this collaboration, Warby Parker will be making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee—an organization that is near and dear to Justin’s heart. And as always, for every pair of Warby Parker frames sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.
Have you guys ever tried Warby Parker eyewear? Which are your favorite designs? Me, I love these – so pink and girly! 🙂
