Natural dental care is something I have been using for a few years now and I am always looking for new products to try. Of course, they need to contain clean ingredients, be effective (as a wine and coffee/tea drinker I worry about stains) and eco-friendly.
I was first introduced to Woobamboo in the November Goodbeing Box (see here) and I’ve been a fan ever since. As a brand dedicated to creating eco-friendly as well as healthy products, it’s only fitting that when they launched in 2013, it was on Earth Day. They started with toothbrushes – made with sustainably sourced moso bamboo. This particular type of bamboo is grown without pesticides or toxic chemicals and is not eaten by Pandas, so their food source is not being taken from them. Bamboo is also naturally anti-microbial so no worries about gross germs (the handles are coated with a natural wax to keep it dry) and biodegradable so it won’t end up sitting in a landfill like plastic toothbrushes! The bristles are recyclable too. 😀
Recently, they’ve come out with more products and I can say that it’s not just their toothbrushes that are (eco) awesome!
Natural toothpaste – I was sent two flavors of their toothpaste to try out and though I was partial to the Vanilla Mint, I did quite like the Marshmallow one too. $5.95
These pastes are made with…
- Natural Flavors
- Calcium Carbonate
- Diatomaceous Earth
- Bamboo & Green Tea Extracts
- Xylitol & Stevia
The tube is made with plant-based plastic and the cap is made of bamboo.
And they are made without…
- Triclosan, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
- Artificial Sweeteners
- Propylene Glycol
- Diethanolamine (DEA)
Eco-Awesome Floss – I can’t imagine brushing and not flossing, so to find a floss that is made from natural, biodegradable silk (not plastic!) and coated with natural wax (so it won’t get stuck between your teeth – trust me it’s not fun when that happens, especially when you have aligners) and packaged in renewable plant-based package, I was super happy! 😀 $9.90 2 pack, $19.80 4 pack
The toothbrushes (which I am so in love with for reasons listed above) come in adult (2 styles) and kids. The prices range from $7.90 (2 pack of adult) to $19.95 (4 2-packs of kid brushes).
