About Me

I feel like there is so much to say that I don’t even know where to begin! I guess I could say that my whole life has been surrounded by music and the arts – so that is obviously of huge importance to me. I also grew up with a mother who believed in using nature before medication – if there was a natural remedy for something, my mom was sure to try it! As a result, I don’t remember being sick that often, so she clearly did something right!

When I was about 9, I began my (life-long) struggle with acne. Nothing helped. To be fair, I grew up in the ‘70’s and 80’s and much of what was known about “helping” acne back then really wasn’t very helpful. It wasn’t until I reached my later 30’s that I learned how to truly care for my skin and how ingredients in the products I was using (and in the beauty industry in general) were doing more harm to my skin than good. It was at this time I became an advocate for the green beauty & organic industry.

In 2013, I had to have major back surgery, which prevented me from teaching or performing music. It was at this time that I created my blog to share all of the products that I have tried and that have helped me, and also to share my wellness journey through foods, supplements, and music.

I believe in taking a holistic approach to wellness, but I also believe in balance. I don’t need to feel guilty for wanting to have a glass of wine (or two) or that second slice of pizza or for even using a product that maybe isn’t 100% “clean”. Stressing over everything I use or eat only makes my health and my skin worse. I do the best I can, I’m educated enough on ingredients to know what I need to avoid and what I am OK with.

When I am not creating new content to share (for here or my music site), you can find me spending time with my hubby and our animal babies on our farmhouse in the country.
